Mountain Lake

Inspired by another beautiful image from Kevin’s No Theme Thursday (03/07/24), I’ve written a haiku.

The pine-scented wind

Does not stir icy water

But still the sun glows.

Brisbane in the Rain

On her writing blog Reena Saxena has provided the word “rain” as her weekly writing prompt. I live in Australia, and I’ve recently returned from a trip to Brisbane and Melbourne. I’ve written a haiku based on the impressions of a beautiful afternoon on July 4 when it rained in Brisbane. The photograph was taken from the front steps of the Queensland Art Gallery.

High-rises so bland

Become beautiful when seen

Through the mist and rain.
